Road Trip

Today we took the ferry across the Kentucky River. I’ve lived in Lexington for 24 years and have never been on the Valley View Ferry. There is no charge. They can take 3 vehicles at a time. The ferry operator said they transport about 400 vehicles a day. This ferry was built in 1785.

Another Find

DSC00137

While driving back from Frankfort on Sunday, Mike decided to take the back roads. We ended up if a road named Bethel and came upon this old church called Bethel Presbyterian Church. Similar layout to the other one, parking to the right, cemetery to the left stone fence in front, and stained glass windows on the side. This one doesn’t look as well kept.

One of the tombstones was dated 1792. It seems that the Presbyterians were one of the earliest religions.

One of the tombstones was really interesting. The back side looked like wood pieces but it was made from cement.
